National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women

Remember that ending violence starts at home. Remember that misogyny is not a thing of the past; it is not something feminists bring up to be a buzzkill or a bitch. It is often a lived reality for women-perhaps women in your community or women that you know-and 22 years ago it marked the end of 14 women’s lives at Polytechnique. Remember that hatred and violence tremors outward and effects all of us. Remember to speak up and to speak out. Don’t turn away from this like it isn’t your problem. It is. Be part of the solution.

Remember the women who were murdered 22 years ago and remember the many others who have died because of hateful violence. Remember them, then move past commemoration into action.
